About Mrs. Gomez

Hello! My name is Tara Gomez, and I have been truly blessed with the terrific opportunity to join the Del Rosa Christian Family as the Second grade teacher.  I have felt such an amazing blanket of warmth, kindness, and Godliness from the spectacular staff, students, and parents since the very first moment I walked onto this campus.  I know God has a plan for me here, and I look forward to the works the Lord will do in my life as a teacher, wife, and mother.  I can only begin to express my gratitude to the Lord for affording my family with this blessing.  In a world that is so complex and so full of numerous religions to choose from, I am so thankful for the Christian word of God and the power of knowing that our God is compassionate, generous, forgiving, present, yet so simple.  For God said Whoever Believed in Him Shall not Perish but have Everlasting Life John 3:16.  I greatly look forward to getting to know each and every wonderful member of the DRCS community.

So, what is my background in teaching and education? Well, I must begin by expressing that I have a deep passion for teaching and eager dedication to having a positive influence on students of all ages. In addition, I am also truly grateful for the education that I have received.  I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology from Cal State University of San Bernardino and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Azusa Pacific University with an emphasis in oral reading.  I also currently hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (CLAD) for grades K-8.

Just out of college,  I was hired on with the San Bernardino City Unified School District where I taught six years of third grade and two years of fifth grade.  I greatly enjoyed these years of successful teaching and found this to be a very pleasant and fond time in my life. I, like many young grads, envisioned myself teaching for  thirty+ years where I would gracefully retire as a wise and noble veteran teacher and enjoy mornings of drinking coffee on my front porch.  Then,  my heart began to yearn for a path of new endeavors, for I became a first-time Mom.  While I loved teaching and my students, I deeply wanted to stay home with my young daughter and knew that I had a tremendous and difficult financial decision to make. It was then that I found myself deep in prayer and giving my worries to God.  Next, I strategized with my Husband and took a huge leap of faith. It was then that I, as well as my Husband, realized just how amazing the Lord is and how much he always provides for and takes care of his Children.

As our daughter entered Kindergarten one year ago at DRCS, I found myself not only wanting to teach children the love of Education and learning but also the love and faith we must have in the Lord.  Hence, it is these reasons that have led me to not return to the public school system and bring myself and my family to the Christian School System. My first year at DRCS was absolutely amazing, and I am very happy to be a teacher at this wonderful hidden gem! I look forward to continuing the path the Lord is leading me on at Del Rosa Christian School.
